1. What Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plans can be activated?
The following Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plans can
be activated for all prepaid, TopUp and contract customers in
possession of a BlackBerry® 10 device.
2. Can I activate the old BlackBerry® packages on a BlackBerry® 10 device?
The existing Blackberry® Internet Service,
Blackberry® Enterprise Service, Blackberry® Social and Blackberry®
Social and Email plans are not available for use on new Blackberry 10
smartphones. However, these service plans will still be available for
Cell C customers using devices on the old Blackberry Operating System
(OS 7.1 and earlier).
Cell C will continue to offer the old BlackBerry
Services (Blackberry® Internet Service, Blackberry® Enterprise Service,
Blackberry® Social and Blackberry® Social and Email) on the BBOS devices
(e.g. 8520, 9320, 8900, 9300, 9790, 9700 etc.)
3. Where can I get a BlackBerry® 10 handset or package?
BlackBerry® 10 handsets, packages and deals are available at all Cell C stores, participating partners and retailers nationwide.
Special deals are also available online. To find a
BlackBerry® 10 deal for you visit the HOT DEALS section on the Cell C
website.
4. How do I activate a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan?
There are various ways you can activate a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan:
- Dial *147# from your BlackBerry® 10 handset and follow the screen prompts
- Call Cell C customer care on 140
- Visit a Cell C store near you. Find all Cell C Stores here
Please note that only one Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan can be active or activated on a single Cell C number.
5. Will I be notified when my plan is activated?
Yes. Once a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan has been successfully activated, you will be notified via SMS.
6. Can I deactivate or opt out from my chosen Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan?
Yes. You can only deactivate a service plan by
calling the Cell C Customer care centre on 140 or visiting a Cell C
store near you. You can find all Cell C Stores
here
7. I want to move from an old BlackBerry® plan to a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan, how do I do this?
You will first need to deactivate your current
service plan (the BlackBerry® Social Plan, BlackBerry® Social and email
Plan, BlackBerry® Internet Service Plan or the BlackBerry® Enterprise
Service Plan) by calling the Cell C Customer care centre on 140 or
visiting a Cell C store near you.
Once your current BlackBerry® Service plan has been
de-activated, you can place your SIM card in the new BlackBerry® 10
device and activate a new Cell C BlackBerry® 10 Service Plan.
To activate a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 Service plan dial
*147# from your BlackBerry® 10 handset and follow the screen prompts or
call Cell C customer care on 140.

8. I want to change my SIM card, how do I do that?
When changing your SIM card to a new one on a
BlackBerry® 10 device, you will be required to re-activate your chosen
Cell C BlackBerry® 10 Service plan.

*147# from your BlackBerry® 10 handset and follow the screen prompts or
call Cell C customer care on 140.

9. Can I roam internationally or call international numbers?
Yes. All current roaming data rates apply when roaming internationally. To view international roaming rates click

International calls are also allowed on all
BlackBerry® 10 devices and all current international calling rates

10. I have depleted the data on the Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan. Can I add a data bundle?
Yes. You can add a data bundle for as little as R7.50
by dialling *147# from your BlackBerry® 10 handset and following the
screen prompts or by calling Cell C customer care on 140.
11. Will I be told about BlackBerry® 10 software updates?
Yes. You will be notified of the update via the BlackBerry® Hub on your BlackBerry® 10 device.
You can also manually check if the software is available by going to Settings → Software Updates → and select Check for Updates.
Updates to BlackBerry® 10 OS will not incur any data
charges while updates to downloaded applications will use the data in
the Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan or the loaded data bundle.
12. Can I activate a Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plan with a device that is not Blackberry?
No, the Cell C BlackBerry® 10 service plans have been
specifically created for BlackBerry® 10 devices and are not available
for other devices.
For other devices you can add data bundles by
dialling *147# from your device and following the screen prompts or by
calling Cell C customer care on 140.
